Psychosomatic Symptoms

Psychosomatic symptoms
The field of psychosomatic medicine is particularly suitable for psychotherapy. Traditionally, psychotherapy is recommended for clients wishing to explore the possibility of there being a psychological or emotional component to their physical organic symptoms.

Symptoms successfully treated therefore include the following; blackouts and fits, hair loss, skin disease such as eczema and psoriasis,  bowel problems such as IBS and incontinence,  rapid growth of - or underlying causes of - fibroids and cists, difficulties swallowing food, migraines, M.E, male impotence, vaginismus. All the above have been successfully treated by ourselves through weekly psychotherapy. We frequently receive referrals from GPs and other medical practitioners to explore the possibility of a psychosomatic component to organic illness.

City & East Therapy Practice provides Psychotherapy, counselling in Walthamstow and East London.
