Life Meaning

You may be coming into therapy in a crisis, struggling to manage the feelings you are experiencing or to comprehend an event or a sequence of events that have lead you to your crisis. It might feel like an earthquake has erupted in your life, that your values are now clearly coming into focus as well as your familiar means of coping with adversity.

Many people report a loss of faith in life too. A crisis can be an excellent opportunity to learn about yourself. Many clients report that prior to the event they had lived life ‘as if’ it were their own, detached and split off from themselves. This way of using a crisis, big or small, is, in therapy, an opportunity to examine our values and become more critical. You can use therapy and the safety of the therapeutic setting to begin to re-evaluate your life and consider changing the direction you are taking in a fundamental way.
